As I watched the talking heads Sunday morning, I was struck by a comment that Hillary Clinton won in New Hampshire partly because women saw a woman being ganged up on by two men — Edwards and Obama.
That’s the fact. The truth is a little, well, different
There are two history-making candidates in the Democratic lineup. As long as the voters have the First African-American and the First Woman, the southern white guy who lost in the last election hasn’t much of a chance.
And let’s face it, Obama was the only guy out there, until after Iowa, talking about really changing Washington, Including Edwards.
So let’s see: Obama wants to beat Clinton, and Edwards wants to beat Clinton, and Obama’s message was what hooked the Iowa voters
So what’s Edwards going to say? “Hey folks, Clinton’s got lots of experience and I’ve got lots of experience, so why you want to rock the boat voting for that new kid?”
Clearly, the answer the voters already had given was a resounding, “Yes! Give us the new kid.”
Clinton’s tears may have been genuine, but showing them on camera was anything but accidental. She’s feeling picked on like a farmer whose bull just won Grand Champion and the farmer’s response is, “Shucks, I really don’t know all that much about raising critters.”
Both of them know exactly what they are doing, and anyone who thinks otherwise is going to lose a lot of money.
